Relaylet is a local-network companion for controlling media playing on your phone from your Windows PC.

What Relaylet accesses

Media information

With your permission, Relaylet Companion uses Android notification access to read the currently playing media session: track title, artist, album, playback state and position, album artwork, and queue information when the media app exposes it.

This information is processed on your phone and sent only to the Relaylet app on your paired Windows PC over your local network.

Pairing information

Relaylet stores a pairing token on your phone and PC so the two devices can reconnect. The token is not sent to us or any third party.

Local diagnostics

Relaylet may keep local diagnostic logs on your PC to help troubleshoot connection problems. These logs are not uploaded to us automatically.

What Relaylet does not do

• No Relaylet account is required.
• We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage profiles.
• We do not upload your media metadata, artwork, queue, or pairing token to our servers.
• We do not sell or share personal data.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera.

Network use

Relaylet communicates only on your local network. The phone runs a local HTTP server for the paired PC, broadcasts a local discovery signal, and the PC connects directly to the phone. Relaylet does not require internet for normal LAN operation.

Permissions

• Notification access: reads the active media session so Relaylet can show and control media.
• Notifications: used for the required foreground-service notification.
• Internet / local network: used only to communicate with your paired PC.
• Run at startup: optional, restores the companion service after reboot.

You can revoke notification access at any time in Android Settings. Revoking it stops media metadata and artwork from being read.

Data retention and deletion

Pairing tokens and settings remain on your devices until you unpair, clear the app's data, or uninstall Relaylet. Local diagnostic logs can be deleted from the PC.

Children

Relaylet is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy if Relaylet's data practices change. The effective date above will be updated.
